October 15 @ 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm UTC+0

Newtown Elementary is 30!

We wouldn’t be where we are today without the history & the amazing community that surrounds this school. We’re excited to have the students lace up their shoes & get into the swing of the new school year!

Walk-A-Thon FAQ’s: We know it’s new, so let’s answer some of your questions:

  • How do we share with our students’ friends and family to donate?
    • Once you register, you will receive an email with the link to send out to friends and family
  • Can friends and family come to the event?
    • While the support of family & friends is typically welcome at PTO events, since this one happens during school hours this will be an NES student event and ask that parents/family/friends stay home for this one
  • What are the prizes?
    • Individual (student who raises the most money): VIP Lunch experience at NES with Mr. Francis, food will be ordered in for the VIP and a few friends.
    • Classroom (the class that raises the most money): Pizza Party or Movie with Popcorn
    • Each Student who Raises $30: Will be entered into a raffle to win 4 SIXERS TICKETS for a game this upcoming season
    • School Meets $20,000 Goal: If the student body meets or exceeds the goal, PTO will host a super fun, high-energy assembly packed with excitement, laughter, and school spirit!
  • Why are we asking our student’s to raise money?
    • As an organization the PTO works behind the scenes a lot of the time and adds value to the school in many ways. Here are a few of the items that we fund annually:
      • Student Agenda Books (Grades 2-6)
      • PBIS Assembly Shirts
      • Exterior Flags on Poles in NES Parking Lot
      • Science Fair Assembly
      • Science Fair Boards
      • Teacher Lunch at Start of School Year
      • Teacher Appreciation Week Events (with help from parents)
      • Trunk or Treat Prizes
      • Back to School Picnic Baskets
      • Scholastic Subscriptions (Grades 1-4)
      • TIME for Kids Subscriptions (Grades 5 & 6)
      • Teacher Grants (Teachers can apply to receive funding for various classroom needs)

If there are any additional questions we can answer, please email us at nesptoboard@gmail.com – thank you for your support!
