We have lived in Newtown for 17 years and have been in the CR School District for 4 years now.
I went to Shippensburg University for my degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Reading and I have a Masters in Reading and Language Arts from Rider University. I am a certified Elementary School teacher K-6 and a certified Reading Specialist K-12.
My husband Kevin and I have two children, Noah is in 3rd grade and Ava is in First.
I have my own Professional Organizing Business. I taught both first (7 years) and second (5 years) grade in New Jersey for 13 years.
I love donating and supporting any charities that focus on children and families- St. Jude, Penn/CHOP NICU hospitals.
I love organizing, decorating, baking with my kids, exercising, running, and shopping.
I love the Welcome Back Picnic and all the excitement it brings for the new school year-seeing old friends and making new ones. I also LOVE Trunk or Treat…Halloween is my favorite holiday (and my kids’ too!) and we love to dress up!
I’ve been on the Board for three years now, and was VP for two years and now I am president, focusing on the fundraising aspect for the organization. I joined the PTO to be more involved in my children’s school experience and meet new people and support the amazing teachers and staff at NES. And as a former teacher…it’s hard for me to not want to be involved in school. As a teacher, I saw what a huge positive impact the PTO had on the teachers, students, and school community, and I wanted to be a part of this amazing group that gives back and supports our teachers and school.

Have 5 kids. My oldest Meghan is 23 and is currently working as a Horse wrangler in the Grand Tetons. Next is Noah, 19 and a sophomore in college. Izzy is a Junior at north. You can find her in lots of the schools shows as well as on the volleyball court. Sophie is in 4th grade at NES and is a competitive gymnast. She will be competing level 7 and 8 this season. Dax is the baby of the family and is 3rd grade at NES. He loves all things sports. Baseball, football, basketball or soccer… sign him up! This will be our 18th year with a child at NES!
I am a teacher at Richboro Elem. My free time is mostly spent driving my kids to their sports. I love watching them do what they love. I also enjoy working out. Running lifting and yoga are my favorites!
The families and teachers are the best part of NES. Our families form such a tight knit community. Our teachers are the best you can get. They go out of their way for our students and to support the PTO.
I’ll be honest, I had children in the school for over 10 years before I got involved with the PT0. At that point I was planning the school play for our 5th and 6th grade and needed to come to a monthly meeting. At that meeting I learned so much about our school, programs, and ways to get involved. These were things that I didn’t know after being there for 10 years. From that day on, I never turned back. I have been Vice President, planning chair, event coordinator and currently I am the treasurer.
You get to see a behind the scene view of what it takes to pull off an event of this size. You also get to experience the joy from the kids first hand. It’s an added bonus to form better connections with teachers and staff at the school.

My own time?! I make time to run, I love running & working out. I also love to be in or around water – the beach, the pool, a lake… you name it, I’m down!
I have a 1st grader who is in love with all things sports especially soccer & baseball. I also have a preschooler who loves sports & Disney Cars.
We’re relatively new to the NES community having only one year under our belt, but so far we love the teachers and staff who are always patient & kind! The events we’ve been able to go to have been so much fun for both kids and it’s been incredible to watch how much my son has grown in just one year at NES!
Going to and volunteering for the events last year, PTO looked like something I would be good at and enjoy. I went to school for Resort & Recreation Management and worked at the Atlantis Paradise Island in the kids programming. I love to make things fun for the kids, plus now I work in marketing, so it’s a no brainer I could help with the website & aesthetic of events!
Elementary school was the best! The holiday parties, holiday assembly singing Christmas songs, FIELD DAY, gym class, recess (especially tetherball), the spirits days…it was so much fun, all the time!
If you love having fun, making memories with your kids and have even a little bit of extra time…it’s worth it! Volunteering is easy, you just sign up, show up & have fun. So if you’re interested in dipping your toe in to see if you’d be a good fit…sign up to volunteer at one of the many events throughout the year!
