My own time?! I make time to run, I love running & working out. I also love to be in or around water – the beach, the pool, a lake… you name it, I’m down!
I have a 1st grader who is in love with all things sports especially soccer & baseball. I also have a preschooler who loves sports & Disney Cars.
We’re relatively new to the NES community having only one year under our belt, but so far we love the teachers and staff who are always patient & kind! The events we’ve been able to go to have been so much fun for both kids and it’s been incredible to watch how much my son has grown in just one year at NES!
Going to and volunteering for the events last year, PTO looked like something I would be good at and enjoy. I went to school for Resort & Recreation Management and worked at the Atlantis Paradise Island in the kids programming. I love to make things fun for the kids, plus now I work in marketing, so it’s a no brainer I could help with the website & aesthetic of events!
Elementary school was the best! The holiday parties, holiday assembly singing Christmas songs, FIELD DAY, gym class, recess (especially tetherball), the spirits days…it was so much fun, all the time!
If you love having fun, making memories with your kids and have even a little bit of extra time…it’s worth it! Volunteering is easy, you just sign up, show up & have fun. So if you’re interested in dipping your toe in to see if you’d be a good fit…sign up to volunteer at one of the many events throughout the year!

I have 3 kids. John (3rd grade), Mark (Kindergarten), and Anne (3 years old). My boys love all things sports, especially soccer and baseball and my daughter is very much in her princess and all things pink and girly phase!
I love spending time with family, especially on a beach! I also love to run, read, and cook if I have time just to myself!
I got involved with the PTO mostly to get more involved with my kids and their school. We have only lived in Newtown for 3 years, so I joined also as a way to meet other parents in the community. I am a pediatric Physical Therapist, so I also enjoy making things fun for kids – the PTO and all of the events they plan seemed like a great way to continue to do that outside of work for my kids and their peers!

The families, teachers, and that a lot of families attend PTO events.
Anything Cher, although those songs might already be on the oldies station.
Definitely join and volunteer! You get to have a say in events and meet more people in our school community.
Class parties, Field Day, assemblies, Reading Olympics, recess with friends!
Last year was our first year at NES and our girls had a wonderful first year in part to the community feeling and PTO events. I wanted to meet people and liked that the PTO was welcoming and always open to adding more volunteers. I also wanted to help make elementary school a great experience for my kids!
Our kids hobbies have become my favorite pastime, I also like planning Disney trips and watching the Phillies.

Madelyn is in 2nd grade and Mackenzie is in kindergarten. They both love playing soccer and are growing into little Philly sports fans! They also enjoy doing arts & crafts, hanging with friends, and being outside.
I own my own small business (Let’s Get Moving) working with older adults and individuals living with neurological conditions to help them move and live as healthy and independent as possible.
I joined the PTO this year to get more involved with the school and get to know parents in the community. I enjoy organizing and planning activities so joining the PTO seemed like a great fit to get involved and create some fun for the kids.
I enjoy watching my girls play sports, spending time with family and friends on the weekend, exercising, and crafting.
